ABOUT

Dangers in Paradise is a Santa Cruz County preparedness initiative.  The past two years Dangers
in Paradise focused on a CERT Muster and Preparedness Fair.  This year the Dangers in Paradise - 2009 initiative has expanded and is part of the state-wide Great California ShakeOut, marking the 20th anniversary of the
October 17, 1989 Santa Cruz County Loma Prieta earthquake. 

The Santa Cruz County Dangers in Paradise - 2009 activities will take place over a 4 day period,
October 15th through October 18th, and will include Duck, Cover and Hold drills as part of the
Great California ShakeOut; a symposium,
The Track of the Quake: Loma Prieta Turns 20; a CERT muster
and Preparedness Fair and two tours of the Santa Cruz County Loma Prieta epicenter area.
